Linden Public

This is one of the coolest independent Coffeehouses in the downtown area. It is on the ground floor corner spot of the historic Broadlind Hotel which is at the intersection of Linden Avenue and East Broadway Street. How cool is that? Starbucks wishes it could be as cool as this place. The main space has been redone with rich wood paneling and boasts 3 flower burst chandeliers which immediately attract the eye. There used to be a passage to the restaurant next door when they both maybe were under the same owner. The upstairs section has lovely column opening windows on the sides of the main arches of the historical frontispiece of the building. There are so many beautiful examples of classic art deco architecture in this area. I can't say enough good things about this place. Now to the cuisine, I had the Moroccan Honeycomb pancakes with maple syrup, a side of tater tots, a medium house roast hot coffee and my large iced coffee with 2 pumps of chocolate syrup, medium ice and plenty of half and half. A right proper breakfast for a beautiful Saturday morning. They also have a lovely new deck curbside right outside the side door if you feel like dining under the open sky. I sat outside after dining upstairs and was able to do some paperwork with minimal wind trouble. I've said it before, and I'll say it again in a new way, Starbucks!!!, are you kidding me?
