Lower Little Truckee Campground

Great location and easy to access from the freeway. It's an amazing location.. right on the Truckee river. You can listen to the rushing river as the sleep at night under the stars. This spot looks really small from the map view but it's pretty spacious. Defiantly a great family spot

After a beautiful 5 hour drive from San Francisco we arrived at the campground at around sunset. Sadly we were met with a closed gate instead of a cosy spot. Obviously we were pretty surprised to see a sign at the gate stating the campground was closed for the season as we did not receive notification that our reservation was cancelled. I would suggest not to reserve a spot here (unless maybe in the summer time) because apparently whoever runs this campground prefers to screw people over instead of spending 5 minutes notifying recreation.gov when the campground is unexpectedly closed for the season.
