Monterey Fairgrounds Inn

When I visited the motel, I got probably the worst room (115), but it was ok for one night for the price I paid. In the evening the toilet started to not working, the water didn't flow, so the water was on the edge of the toilet. For the morning it went down, I wanted to use it again but it overflow, so I contacted a guy at the reception to do something. He suggested two solutions for this problem: 1. he calls a plumber who will be there in 2 hours (I should check out that time already) 2. he gave me a pipeline pigging tool that I can use to repair the toilet. Based on his suggestions I shouldn't use the toilet in the morning. LOL. Furthermore I was amazed that he wants a guest to do plumber work in the room. I'm a guest, not a professional! I wanted to ask a new room where I can use the toilet. The receptionist wanted to give me a key only for extra charge. Finally, after talking and somewhat screaming 10 minutes I got a new room key where me and my girlfriend could use the toilet. I know that I didn't pay much for the room, but the basic services should work.

Filthy rooms, not clean at all. Mattresses should be illegal. So Disgusting. I went up to tell the guy at the front desk who I actually think is the owner possibly because he did not leave once over a 24 hour. And at the same time there was a French man that had a cup in his hand. He looked at me and asked me if my Room was filthy and I said yes. His English was very broken but he told me he had bed bugs in that cup. He was very upset and shaking said that he travels all around and has never seen this and he is shocked for how disgusting it is for a American hotel . I told him it is not common , he said he is shocked!. Anyhow, if you don't mind staying in absolute filth and bed bugs this is the place for you. Basically the guy at the front desk told me there was nothing he can do for me he was not willing to change me rooms. I am going to file a report with the city if i dont get my full refund. I have a bunch of pictures to show. Lastly their continental breakfast is cheap fruit loops and cheap danishes and that is it. (I tried to post all 13 pix, wouldn't let me)
