I would not recommend the trail from Scotts Peak Trail Head straight east towards downtown Orinda in late April/May. Hikers coming the opposite direction warned of a baby mountain lion a half mile up, so I was little bit on edge. Also, about a solid 1.5 miles or so of tall grass made jogging impossible (looking at some pictures, this might be a seasonal problem, in which case I would give another star). That said, beautiful views. If you go, wear long pants and bring a friend.
