Wonderful three-night stay in the Creekside Cabin. Incredibly helpful and friendly staff. Loved the remote and quiet location from which to explore less traveled sections of Sequoia. Can't wait to go back someday.

I couldn't even begin to speak highly enough of this place. Seriously!!! But I also have a lot of great things to say about this place. I have never felt so at home and happy anywhere. The cabin, surrounded by Sequoia's though a bit pricey was with every penny. They are fully furnished, depending on which cabin you choose of course, but ours included a full kitchen, dining room, two separate bedrooms and a spare bed in the dining/kitchen area. Gas lanterns for light so it can get a little warm at night. Additionally a great view from the porch with a picnic table and tons of birds to keep you entertained while you enjoy your morning coffee. Great über modern bath house facility, very, very nice. The altitude is a bit of an adjustment but give it a day or so and it will be fine. At the store there is last minute for items as well as a small selection of outdoor goods but I would highly recommend bringing in food. The site also provides breakfast, lunch and dinner with WiFi available. Outdoor and indoor seating available and I little playground the kids as well. The menu is small but it is delicious. There is a good sized city roughly forty minutes southwest of here with lower prices, I only say this because the city at the base of the mountain is a bit pricey as well but will suffice if you need. The road up can cause a bit of anxiety for those less adventurous and not keen on heights. Consequently, the road gets very narrow with tight, blind turns so pick a driver that is comfortable with this but it can be a long drive up with no restrooms. Take care to make sure your vehicle doesn't overheat in the Summertime driving up. On to the hiking and sights. The trailhead is for miles down the road along with a ranger station with incredible staff. I personally enjoyed the "Yoga with a ranger" Sunday morning and the stories that were shared at the "Campfire with the Ranger". Nothing but adventure, relaxation, and delight await you here and you avoid a big majority of the traffic going to the official park entrance. The trails are to notch if you're looking for a casual stroll or a wildly challenging mountain hike. I personally went for the hike to Saw Tooth which I did in under eight hours out and back but I have a fast pace and took a lunch. I have never felt so in awe with the beauty of the natural landscape and sights. I have returned home with a deep love and respect for this place and will certainly return many more times in the future. I have never been happier with my decision to go but take precaution when on the trails, the dangers are not too be taken lightly, bears and other natural hazards are very serious but with worth it. I recommend purchasing bear mace or a bear bell if you can before arriving to the park as this will help protect you if you happen to cross a bear. I really am interested in reading feedback so please let me know how your adventures turn out!!!
