Beaumont Bicycle Shop

If you're a serious MTBer, steer clear. Let me say that I have been a faithful customer of Rick's shop for about four years. In that time I've purchased two bikes, and easily spent over $3,000 there and in the past had been very happy with them. Lately they have been getting worse and worse. They've downsized because they're business is declining, and here's my recent experience that will show why. I took in a Haro Flightline Comp 29er Hardtail MTB asking to service my fork which had been leaking black fluid due to age, and general wear. I took it in Tuesday and told them I needed for a ride today Saturday morning, and was told the mechanic would be in Thursday morning and that they had only one bike other than mine to service. I was told they'd call me and would let me know, likely on Thursday when my bike would be finished. I did not receive a call Thursday, or Friday, so finally I called on Friday an hour before closing just to have Rick tell me that they do not service​ mechanical forks, (spring) only air, and that the fluid leak was perfectly normal and I should just wipe it down. The man at the front desk was perfectly helpful, and did his best to help. He did his job well. This was Rick and the mechanics fault, and I was surprised to see the man at the front having to apologize on Rick's behalf. All in all it was very disappointing, and I have left the shop for Ridgeline on Cherry Valley Blvd.
